Ron joined Elder’s in August of 1986 and has been our Ooltewah Store Manager since July of 2021. Ron has worked at our Chickamauga, Rome, East Ridge, Highway 58, Lafayette, Ooltewah, Southside, Walden and Redbank stores! Plumbing and Lawn & Garden are his favorite departments because he says they offer challenges that allow him to build his knowledge. When asked what he remembers most about Elder, he said “Elder was a great man that was always willing to give you his time. I learned from him that when dealing an employee situation, you need to get all the information yourself before making a decision. You should ask your questions with concern in your voice, and you need to be willing to forgive and leave it in the past.” Ron’s favorite thing about working at Elder’s is how every day presents new opportunities. He says “Customers' needs, tasks that need to be completed, buying challenges, and employ needs are different from day to day. You never know what you will be working on.” On his days off, Ron enjoys camping, fishing, hiking, and spending time with his family. He also spends his time doing home improvement projects. Fun fact about Ron- he’s managed 8 different stores throughout his career with Elder’s (the most of any manager).
